No invoices for member

by isleofman.com 21st November 2007
Providing invoices for every taxi, minibus, and private hire vehicle used by government departments for the last two years sounds a Herculean task.

And in Tynwald this week, North Douglas MHK John Houghton was told that was why the information he requsted wouldn't be left in the members' room.

He asked the Treasury; Department of Home Affairs; Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; and Manx National Heritage for the individual receipts for every journey and vehicle.

But in every case the member responsible said this would create reams of work for civil servants and divert resources from important work.

Instead, each member referred him to the audit committee for more information.
