Quad biker awaits sentence

by isleofman.com 21st November 2007
A 25 year-old man who drove a quad bike around Douglas while disqualified has been warned it’s likely he will spend Christmas in jail.

Colin Quilliam, of Keppel Road, Willaston admitted committing the offence in Peel Road on October 14.

The court heard he was seen by police on patrol, swerving from side to side and not wearing a helmet.

After being stopped by police, his speech was described as slurred and he was arrested.

The case was adjourned until December 18 for a social inquiry report and a meeting with the drug and alcohol team.

High Bailiff Michael Moyle warned Quilliam custody was likely and that he would almost certainly spent Christmas in prison.
