Tynwald row over supplementaries

A war of words broke out in Tynwald today, after Chief Minister Tony Brown replied to a question alleging dissatisfaction about pension arrangements for new Post Office workers.

President of Tynwald Noel Cringle had already allowed various supplementary questions before he attempted to move on to the next question.

He then shouted down a number of members, who wanted to ask further supplementaries, because he said they were being used to make statements and spark debate.

The argument reached its height when Mr Cringle refused a point of order request by Michael MHK David Cannan and Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan stepped in:
