Change to Douglas policing?

by isleofman.com 19th November 2007
A number of Douglas MHK's say they're concerned about proposals to change the method of operation of officers at Pulrose Willaston and Braddan police stations.

South Douglas MHK David Cretney (pictured) says there's a suggestion that the civilian staff who operate at the three stations could move to Onchan station and operate centrally from there.

He believes this wouldn't be a positive move for his constituents and those of the other areas, and wants to see the decision reviewed: (audio clip)

Mr Cretney says his concerns are shared by MHK's Bill Henderson and John Houghton, and whilst he's already expressed his concern to Home Affairs Minister Martin Quayle, says if he's unable to secure a review they will be seeking a meeting with Chief Constable designate Mike Langdon.
