Major film for Island?

by isleofman.com 19th November 2007
Negotiations are at an advanced stage in the possibility of a major film being shot in the Isle of Man next year.

Few details are available at this stage, but industry minister David Cretney has confirmed that the film makers have offered a substantial sum to hire the Gaiety theatre for a period of six weeks from next February.

Talks are continuing with groups who had booked the venue during the period, and Mr Cretney is due to meet with representatives of the organisations later today (Mon).

Mr Cretney says various options are being explored, including alternative dates and moving productions to the Villa Marina.
