Colby hit six of the best

by isleofman.com 17th November 2007
Colby turned on the style to blitz the Police on Saturday and maintain their dominance of CFS Division Two.

Furo Davies, Josh Kelly (two), Steve Leece (two) and James Cain were the scorers in a 6-1 win for the rampant southerners who sealed their 14th straight victory before half-time with all six goals!

Sam Liver scored the Police consolation, also in the first period.

Michael consolidated second spot with a 7-2 home win over Ronaldsway.

Player-manager Nick Hurt grabbed four with Michael Shimmin (two) and Jamie Moffatt the other home scorers.

Mark Rees scored both for the Rockets.

And one of the most prolific strikers in the Manx game did it again – a second half hat-trick from David Skillen securing a 3-0 win for third placed Pulrose at lowly Ramsey Youth Centre.

Alex Crawley continued his fine season with a hat-trick and Mike Edge notched a doubleas Castletown won 5-0 at Jurby.

Mark Walmsley was the hat-trick hero as Onchan produced a super second half showing to win 6-1 at Braddan.

Mark Wolfenden grabbed two and Paul Whitley the other with Wil Smith finding the net for Braddan, who had gone in level at 1-1 at the break.

There was a rare goalless draw between two mid-table sides, Malew and Marown, at Clagh Vane, while Foxdale won the battle of the strugglers, seeing off bottom club Douglas and District 2-1, thanks to goals from former Island international Martin Costain and Anthony Corkill.

Peter Kirkham was the D&D scorer.
