Shimmin hits treble; Kestrels celebrate

Bacchas A maintained pole position in Manx hockey’s top flight with a 7-2 victory over Phoenix A on Saturday.

A hat-trick from Kelly Shimmin led the way with Richard Le Page, Karl Moore, Glen Bloxham-Mundy and Andy Bridson grabbing the others as Bacchas stay a point clear with a match in hand.

Reigning champions Valkyrs A and Ramsey kept their hopes alive with comfortable victories.

Gareth Morris was the hero for Valkyrs, hitting five in a 6-1 victory over Falcons.

Andrea Kneen grabbed the other with Kim Carney notching the Falcons’ consolation.

Valkyrs are second on goal difference ahead of Ramsey who defeated battling Valkyrs B 3-0 – Philly Ward and Ollie Webster (two) the scorers.

And congratulations to Kestrels who clinched the Division Four title following a goalless draws with Phoenix B.
