Fuel poverty warning

A member of the House of Keys is warning the Island it needs to start taking fuel poverty seriously.

In Tynwald on Tuesday East Douglas member Brenda Cannell will ask Chief Minister Tony Brown what he is going to do about people who can’t afford to heat their homes properly.

Mrs Cannell (pictured) says recent price rises linked to the soaring price of oil means more people than ever are affected and she claims that, in the past, the government has been reluctant to help:
