Crash rules Martin out at Macau

by isleofman.com 16th November 2007
T.T. favourite Guy Martin will miss tomorrow's Macau Grand Prix after a crash in qualifying.

He was knocked unconscious in the incident and taken to hospital. He has since been released with a broken thumb and hand, as well as severe bruising.

Michael Rutter is on course to claim an unprecedented seventh title having claimed pole position with a new lap record.

Austrian Thomas Hinterreiter is second fastest just ahead of John McGuinness. Last year's winner Steve Plater will start from fourth after only completing five laps on his misfiring Yamaha.

Ramsey rider Conor Cummins is an excellent 9th on his debut at the circuit. Castletown's Chris Palmer will start from 26th.
