Smarten up to attract business says Minister

Treasury Minister Allan Bell has renewed calls for Douglas to 'smarten up its act' to help bring new business to the Isle of Man.

Responding to criticism, by Douglas Councillor Jim Mitchell, of his earlier comments, Mr Bell (pictured) says that Douglas is our shop window and just isn't attractive compared to many other competing jurisdictions.

He said it's NOT another case of 'having a go' at Douglas - but that it's often the seemingly insignificant things that can prove to be a 'deal breaker' when trying to attract overseas investors:
