Joined-up Public Health?

All arms of government should consider the impact of their policies on the health of the Manx public.

That message is from the new Director of Public Health in the Island Dr Parameshwaran Kishore - who's been confirmed in the post after two years as Acting Director.

His remit - protecting the public from health hazards such as pandemic flu - promoting healthy lifestyles - and improving health services.

And Dr Kishore (pictured) suggests each government department should think carefully about public health when policies are drawn-up:
