by isleofman.com 15th November 2007
John Corris has been elected the new chairman of the Manx Labour Party.

He succeeds John Wakes in the post following the party’s annual general meeting.

A number of new members have joined the MLP, which has been influential on social justice and legislation issues and is planning to arrange a number of public meetings next year on subjects of interest and current affairs.

Also elected at the AGM were Douglas councillor Michael Dooley as vice-chairman, secretary Eddie McBride, treasurer Carl Wilson, press officer Mary Watt and former Party chairman David Cretney MHK (pictured) in a new role as official party spokesman.
