Another online Steam Packet protest

The man behind a new internet protest against the Steam Packet says he hopes the company will reinstate weekend day trips to Liverpool in its winter service.

Steve Nixon created a group on the social networking site Facebook entitled ‘The IoM Steam Packet couldn't organise their way out of a wet paper bag’ which has attracted 500 members in just two weeks.

Many members are students who say the new winter schedules will leave them high and dry, either facing high travelling costs to fly or long journeys to Heysham.

Mr Nixon explained why he wanted to set up the group:
