by isleofman.com 12th November 2007
The Isle of Man will have a new chief constable from January 1.

Mike Langdon, who is currently Deputy Chief Constable, joined the Manx force from Merseyside in 2005. He has more than 30 years of police service and is the holder of the prestigious Queen's Police Medal.

Mr Langdon (pictured) has been involved with the modernisation of the constabulary with emphasis on neighbourhood policing.

He says everything the Manx force does must be for the benefit of the distinct communities of the Isle of Man (audio file attached):

Mike Langdon was speaking to Stuart Peters on Mandate.

Outgoing Chief Constable Mike Culverhouse has been 'signed off' work for some weeks.
