Amenity site suggestions rejected

An MHK is being told to mind his own business, after making suggestions about the running of the Eastern District Civic Amenity Site, at Middle River, near Pulrose power station.

A committee with representation from each of the six local authorities in the area is due to take over responsibility for the facilty from the start of next year.

But Onchan MHK David Quirk, who was involved in the administration of the site before he was elected to the House of Keys, thinks a more formal board structure should be used.

Chairman of Douglas Corporation's Works Committee, Ritchie McNicholl, isn't impressed and says an improved service will be provided when the planned changes take effect:
