Island will remember war dead

by isleofman.com 9th November 2007
It’s Remembrance Day on Sunday, when the people of the Isle of Man and others throughout the world will pay tribute to those who have given their lives for their countries.

At churches and chapels all over the Island special services will be held in memory of the fallen.

The service in St Thomas’ Church, Douglas will be broadcast live on Manx Radio from just after 10am, as will the wreath laying ceremony at the nearby war memorial and the two minute's silence at 11am.

Leader of Douglas Town Council David Christian says taking part in services of remembrance, after he joined the council, opened his eyes to the sacrifices made (audio file attached):

As usual, the Island’s National Service of Remembrance will be at St John’s. It starts at 3pm on Sunday.
