The Isle of Man branch of the Samaritans is paying tribute to the founder of the organisation, who passed away on Thursday.
Ninety-five year-old Dr Chad Varah was inspired to launch the charity more than 50 years ago after being an assistant curate at the funeral of a 13 year old girl who had committed suicide.
He was also an Anglican priest and, among other things, played a major part in the founding of The Eagle comic in the 1950s.
He has been described by Prince Charles as an 'utterly remarkable man and a great Briton', whose dedication saved countless lives.
