Early Years Conference continues

An two day event which is looking at ways of improving education for the Island's youngsters continues tomorrow.

The Early Years Conference is being attended by teachers, nursery nurses, childminders and DHSS representatives among others, with expert speakers from the Isle of Man and as far away as Canada.

Education Minister Anne Craine, who opened the conference this morning, says it's important for the Manx Government to explore the very best knowledge and ideas available so it can deliver the best care for the Island's children.

School Improvement Adviser for Early Years Education Jayne Adamson says the first five years of a child's life are the most vital when it comes to learning:
