Watson out to remain unbeaten

by isleofman.com 9th November 2007
This weekend's Black Horse Finance Stages Rally looks set to be another classic event.

The four drivers who dominated last time head the entry list; Rob Watson has won every 'club' closed roads rally since 2003 but he was pushed last year by George Collister, Nigel Cannell and Steve Quine.

It gets under way from the TT Grandstand at 7pm on Friday event for the opening nine stages. The opener crosses the Groudle Road before heading into Baldromma, the next tackles the notorious Glen Roy and finishes at Lonan Church, and the loop is completed over Dog Kennels, 5 and a half mile corner and on to Creg-ny-Baa.

Saturday follows a similar pattern with a 10am re-start for the final nine tests. The three stage loop starts on Marine Drive and the Old Castletown Road before heading to Grenaby, Ronague and Round Table for the next. A stage at The Gate, St Marks, Ballacorris and the Clannagh Road completes the set.
