by isleofman.com 29th October 2007
The trial is underway at Douglas Courthouse (pictured) of a woman accused of driving without due care and attention.

Patricia Power, of the Eairy, East Foxdale was charged with the offence after an accident on the Ballamodha Straight, last November, in which a motorcyclist lost his life.

The case is being heard by Magistrates, who are currently visiting the scene of the accident, along with representatives of the prosecution and defence.

The man who died was John Hughes, also from Port Erin, and two days have been set aside for the hearing.

Mrs Power has pleaded not guilty to the offence.
