Poppy Appeal launch

The 2007 Royal British Legion poppy appeal will officially be launched in the Island by Chief Minister Tony Brown on Saturday morning.

The Strand Shopping Centre in Douglas is the venue at 10.30am.

Isle of Man county publicity officer for the Royal British Legion, Major Charles Wilson, is urging the Manx public to show its support as the run-up to Remembrance Day begins.

And he says early indications show the community will play an important part once again (audio file attached):
