Jail for Port Erin man

by isleofman.com 26th October 2007
An 18 year old Port Erin man has been jailed for six months after admitting two offences of affray.

The prosecution said Michael James Watterson approached two juveniles on Station Road in the village one evening in July. He asked one for his bike and when refused he pushed one over a wall and headbutted another.

On March the 17th the defendant slapped a man he wrongly thought had given a young girl drugs.

His advocate said Watterson had problem with binge drinking, he couldn't remember the incident and had apologised to man he had slapped.

He asked for a suspended sentence and a supervision order but the High Bailiff said the defendant had breached previous orders in the past.
