IoM 'would deal' with pandemic flu

The Isle of Man would be able to cope with a pandemic flu outbreak.

That's according to independent expert John Wort, who was at an exercise at the Villa Marina to assess the Island's measures to deal with the illness.

One hundred and forty decision makers from the public and private sectors attended the initiative at the Villa Marina to explore how the Island would manage in the event of a pandemic.

Mr Wort says while there is always room for improvement, the Island is already ahead of the United Kingdom (audio file attached):
