Postal dispute resolved

by isleofman.com 23rd October 2007
The long-running postal dispute has finally been settled, subject to a ballot of UK post union members.

Deliveries to and from the Island were affected by a number of UK strikes over pay and conditions.

Isle of Man Post has confirmed the Communication Workers Union Executive has ratified a national agreement with Royal Mail to settle the dispute.

Local post office staff are trying to clear any backlog as quickly as possible, and the guarantee for the special delivery service has now been reinstated.

Other services to and from the UK are expected to improve considerably over the next few days and customers are advised to post as normal.
