Pandemic flu planning

A major exercise to test the Island's response to a possible outbreak of pandemic flu took place on the Island yesterday (Mon).

140 'decision makers' from the public and private sectors took part in the table-top exercise at the Villa Marina.

The meeting gave those present the chance to discuss how the Isle of Man might deal with large numbers of people becoming ill.

Chief Minister Tony Brown attended and says the exercise highlighted issues such as the need to keep emergency powers up to date:
