Assault questions by MHK

Why was someone who admitted sexual assault been given only a police caution - and not taken to court?

That was the question posed by Bill Henderson in a series of questions to Tynwald last week.

According to Mr Henderson, the assault has left one of his constituents in fear for her safety.

It's emerged the perpetrator was offered the caution because it was a first offence

And the Attorney General told Tynwald it was a matter for the prosecution service.

But the member for North Douglas says the procedures used to 'measure' such serious cases may need changing:
