Island top of seaside list

by isleofman.com 23rd October 2007
Douglas has been listed in number one position in a list of the top ten seaside towns in Britain.

The list, on the Times Online website, describes Douglas as 'built along a great sweeping bay' and 'gateway to the fascinating 'abroadness' of the Isle of Man'.

The Island is ahead of Grange-over Sands, which is described as 'the perfect old-fashioned resort' in second place and Llandudno which is praised for its 'unmatched seaside architecture' in third.

Well known resorts such as Scarborough and Torquay are listed in 5th and 8th place respectively.

The list was published over the weekend.
