More first-time buyer homes on cards

Tynwald has agreed to fund over 250 first-time buyers homes.

Members backed spending almost ?9.2 million pounds to support the purchase of a further 100 open market properties and over 164 'approved' dwellings that are currently being built.

Since 1999, the court has approved funding of almost ?20 million which has been spent on grant support for 387 properties on the open market and grants and top up loans for the purchase of 411 'approved' homes.

Subject to planning approvals, over 350 new dwellings should be completed over the next three years.
