IRIS MHK on sludge pellet options

The Department of Transport member responsible for the IRIS project says there are still options for dealing with sludge pellets.

Bride commissioners say they will oppose plans to bury the dried sewage waste at Wright’s Pit North, but David Quirk MHK says other alternatives are available.

Mr Quirk says some work needs to be done to make sure the pellets are suitable, and tests are underway.

Speaking after a Tynwald debate about IRIS, he outlined the options:
