Changes to meaning of 'family'

by isleofman.com 19th October 2007
The Chief Minister believes the 'family unit' has changed dramatically since the late 1970s.

Tony Brown (pictured) was speaking after Tynwald voted to accept the government's Strategic Plan, setting out the way ahead for the next four years.

He says the plan places the concept of the 'family' at the heart of government focus, but points out there have been radical changes to what the word actually means.

The larger 'family' of the Manx community is also very different (audio file attached):

Tony Brown was speaking to Dan Davies on Talking Heads.
