Minister monitors merger plans

Chairman of the Communications Commission, and Minister for Home Affairs, Martyn Quayle says he’s keeping a close eye on ITV’s plans for Border Television.

Proposals are in place to merge the region with Tyne Tees, but there are fears the Isle of Man will lose much of its TV news coverage.

In Tynwald this week, Mr Quayle (pictured) revealed the commission had written to ITV asking the company to explain its plans even though, at this stage, the proposals were only suggestions:
