Inspector backs resurfacing work

by isleofman.com 19th October 2007
Resurfacing work will take place on Richmond Hill this weekend, following two accidents on the road last Saturday.

A section of the Douglas-bound carriageway at the top of the hill is to be resurfaced.

Temporary traffic lights will be installed and a 20mph speed limit put in place.

Tests were carried out on the skidding resistance of the road following the accidents.

Inspector Derek Flint (pictured), of the Roads Policing Unit, says while the incidents were not serious, they reinforced the need for motorists to slow down in damp weather.

Subject to good weather, the road will re-open as normal on Sunday evening.
