Downie's traffic concerns

A member of the Legislative Council believes there is something 'radically wrong' with the traffic management system in Douglas.

Alex Downie says around the Sea Terminal and the bottom of Lord Street there are often bottle-necks which cause major disruption.

He says on Senior Race Day this year some motorists found themselves stranded for two hours because the bridge was up.

Mr Downie (pictured) also has concerns about plans to take away the mini-roundabout outside Tesco, moving vehicles onto South Quay and over the lifting bridge.

He thinks the public has been slow to pick up on the plan:
