Bride want pellet proof

Bride Commissioners say they want proof sewage pellets are harmless before they’ll drop objections to plans that would allow them to be buried at Wright’s Pit North.

A proposed variation of the landfill site’s licence could see it burying the dry pellets in times of need.

But commissioners say that could lead to leaching from the site – and they’re asking for one of the pellets so it can be analysed.

Chairman Jimmy Kneen said a meeting on Tuesday was well-attended, with the board objecting to the plans:
