Minister defends Douglas roads

Transport Minister David Anderson has hit back at a claim that there is something "radically wrong" with the traffic management system in Douglas.

MLC Alex Downie says there are often traffic jams around the Sea Terminal and the bottom of Lord Street, and he has concerns about proposed moves to remove the mini roundabout near the Tesco store, which would effectively force many more Douglas-bound vehicles on to the South Quay and over the lifting bridge.

Mr Anderson says the intention has always been to remove the mini roundabout, and he doesn't accept Mr Dowies' figures:
