Lamp causes fire call out

by isleofman.com 17th October 2007
An outdoor halogen lamp left on a roof is being blamed for a fire at a property in Ballaugh.

Fire crews were called to The Cronk in the early hours of this morning after reports of smoke coming from the attic.

Fire crews in breathing apparatus found the attic and first floor smoke logged.

They used a thermal image camera to discover a halogen lamp left face down on the tiles had caused part of the roof to smoulder.

All those inside the house left before the crews arrived.
