Tynwald has approved an extra ?6.25 million for the Department of Transport to help settle the final account on the Meary Veg Treatment Plant.

The motion was passed by both MHKs and the Legislative Council, just before the lunchtime recess.

Earlier they rejected a proposed amendment from North Douglas MHK John Houghton, who called for the figure to be broken up and voted on separately.
