Spiced beer on the way?

by isleofman.com 10th September 2007
Proposed changes to the Island’s Victorian brewing laws could be good news for drinkers with discerning palates.

Tynwald is due to consider an amendment to the 1874 Brewer’s Act which controls what can be put into Manx beer.

The changes would mean breweries could add herbs to beers to created spiced brews, although sweeteners and other substances would still be outlawed.

The Brewing (Exempt Ingredient) Order will be discussed at Tynwald’s October sitting, which begins on Tuesday next week.
