Foot and mouth order before Tynwald

by isleofman.com 9th October 2007
Measures to combat foot and mouth disease will go before Tynwald for approval next Tuesday, although they are already being enforced.

The new foot and mouth disease order bans imports of milk and meat except under license from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

Those bans were put in place after the outbreak of the disease in the United Kingdom in August, and breaching the ban can mean a fine of up to ?5,000.

The Court will consider the measures when it sits on Tuesday next week.
