A political pressure group wants to see all the proceedings of Tynwald Court, its branches and committees made available in video form on the Internet.
The Positive Action Group has made a submission on its webcasting plans to the Tynwald Management Committee, and it awaiting a formal reply.
Forty parliaments and councils in the British Isles already use the technology, and P.A.G. Chairman, Roger Tomlinson, says it could be introduced in the Isle of Man for about ?40,000 a year, per chamber.
He says the audio-visual recordings would be available immediately and other facilities, such as the ability to locate individual words or phrases within speeches, could be included in the package:
The Positive Action Group plans to demonstrate the webcasting technology to members of Tynwald, and the public, the week after next.
