Preston assault arrests

Three men have been arrested in Preston in connection with an attack on a 26 year old man from the Isle of Man.

Alex Messenger was assaulted in the town in the early hours of September 26th.

He was punched in the face and fell, hitting his head on the pavement.

He was later discovered to have a brain injury and underwent surgery at Royal Preston Infirmary. He's still described as being in a stable but serious condition.

The three men, aged 23, 19 and 17 were arrested in Preston this morning.

Mr Messenger, a former Rushen United footballer, is the son of former Port St Mary Commissioner Harry Messenger.
