Man in court on wounding charges

A 39 year old unemployed man has appeared in court charged with wounding two police officers, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

William David Henry Sayle, of Slieu Curn Park, Kirk Michael allegedly committed the offence against two constables, who were named in court as Kevin Newburn and Timothy Jones.

Mr Sayle is also charged with affray and all the offences were allegedly committed at Slieu Curn Park, on October 4.

There was no application for bail and the defendant was granted legal aid.

He was remanded in custody until October 16.
