UK postal strike

by isleofman.com 4th October 2007
The first of two 48-hour postal strikes in the UK are due to start at lunchtime today (Thursday).

The industrial action is planned by Royal Mail workers following unsuccessful pay negotiation talks between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union.

Isle of Man Post Office employees will again be not involved and local services will not be affected but postal services to and from the Island are expected to be delayed as a result.

The industrial action will come into effect from 12 noon for 48 hours and again from 3am next Monday.
