Wiseman - suspended sentence

by isleofman.com 3rd October 2007
A 21 year old man has been given a sixty day prison sentence suspended for twelve months by the Deputy High Bailiff.

Shaun Patrick Wiseman of Greeba Road, Willaston, admitted making use of provoking behaviour.

Stuart Peters reports:

Rosemary Burnett, prosecuting said the defendant punched a man he thought had given him a black eye the week before.

The incident occurred at 10.30pm on April 9th outside Sam Webbs.

The defendant swore at two males and subsequently started to punch one.

Wiseman's advocate, Steven Woods, said the defendant's judgement was clouded by him being drunk. He accepted that he was getting an alcohol problem and he was now going to seek help.

Mr Montgomery repeated his belief that the public are getting fed-up with street fights in Douglas and ordered Wiseman to pay ?100 compensation.
