by isleofman.com 28th September 2007
MHKs have visited the new Douglas Water Treatment Works.

The facility, which is in its commissioning period, is due to be handed over early next year.

The Works, which remain within the allocated ?26.5 million budget, will treat up to 37 megalitres of water a day, serving Douglas, Onchan, Middle and the south of the Island and should be open to the public next summer.

The facility comprises three buildings, namely chemical, process and administration, and is two storeys in height.

The Project team recently reached a landmark in its construction, having completed 250,000 man hours without a reportable accident.
