CRHS petition removed

by isleofman.com 28th September 2007
An online petition calling for the resignation of an Island head teacher has been removed amid threats of legal action.

A Facebook petition of more than 300 asked for Maria Tomaszewska to stand down as head of Castle Rushen High School.

It was set up by a former pupil who has now called for the end of the petition after the Department of Education announced it was seeking legal advice.

Last week Trades Council president Bernard Moffatt said he was worried about the tactics being employed and said the petition was more like a lynch mob than activism.

The school has been at the centre of an ongoing row between teachers and senior management, with extracurricular sport cancelled and an inspection underway.
