DoLGE defends planning

The Department of Local Government and the Environment's Director of Estates and Housing believes plans are made as openly available as possible to the Manx public.

Richard Senior's assertion comes in the wake of comments from the Secretary of the Ballasalla and District Residents' Association, David Allsebrook, who says the Island's planning procedures are "disgusting".

He says people are unable to take copies of plans away to properly prepare their opposition to them, because of copyright issues.

The BDRA is opposed to DoLGE's proposed Crossag Farm development in the village.

Mr Senior says copyrighting does prevent duplicates being given out, but believes the Association has had plenty of time and opportunities to study the Crossag Farm plans:
