Burma crisis

A local international politics expert believes the outcome of the current upheaval in Burma will be determined by outside influences.

And the International Business School's Professor Roger Carey says China will be the primary one of these as it currently supports the country's military regime.

Tensions have continued to rise over the last few days as buddhist monks and pro-democracy demonstrators took to the streets of the Burmese capital, Rangoon and were beaten and arrested by the junta's troops.

Professor Carey thinks that even if the regime is overthrown, the country could enter a very difficult phase:
