High-tech testing at Tromode

New high-tech equipment at the DoT vehicle testing centre in Tromode could mean more rectification notices for drivers of defective vehicles.

Transport Minister David Anderson (group, centre) says the new equipment has NOT been installed as a precursor to introducing a Manx MoT test - but to reinforce the links between the police and DoT inspectors to keep dangerous vehicles off the roads.

Inspector Derek Flint (group, right), head of the Roads Policing Unit says improved efficiency paves the way for a more robust vehicle defect rectification scheme:
