Gaiety restoration

Work to spruce up three sections of the Gaiety Theatre's painted ceilings got underway at the weekend.

Restorers Richard Powter and Oliver Watkiss have come over from England to remove the canvases so they can be cleaned and repaired.

Gaiety Theatre Heritage Manager, Mervyn Stokes, says this represents the latest phase of the ongoing project to fully restore the theatre.

Mervyn is looking forward to seeing this section mirror work that's already been carried out:
